Andrey Birzhin Has Congratulated a Glorax Life Swimmer Who Has Shown Good Results in Competition

Master of sports in swimming Andrey Kurnosov, a member of the Glorax Life corporate team, has come first in his age category on the one mile distance at the Moscow stage of the Champions Cup as well as become an absolute winner on the 1.9 km distance at the prestigious international tournament Oceanmann in Sochi. Andrey Birzhin has congratulated the swimmer who has shown good results in the competitions.

The sports department of the group of companies is meant to promote active and healthy lifestyle and to support professional athletes. The Glorax Group helped swimmer Andrey Kurnosov to prepare for Russian and international Masters Series championships. The 34-years old sports master in swimming in addition to his job as a trainer also participates in international large-scale competitions as well as regularly gets his qualification reconfirmed in the interim control swims. A schedule like this means over 20 competitions per year. On May 27 Andrey came second in the overall standing and first in his age group on the one-mile distance at the Champions Cup in Moscow:

‘It is one of the largest tournaments on open water which usually brings together up to two thousand athletes. In my group for the one-mile distance 300 participants have been registered but only 30 of them including myself were not wearing wetsuits. The situation was even more difficult because this year the water was very cold, 15⁰С compared to the usual 28⁰С in swimming pools. In the conditions like that muscles work differently, efficiency in general is lower. Thanks to my experience and training I succeeded in having my qualification reconfirmed’, said Andrey Kurnosov.

The very next day on May 28 the athlete swam the 1.9 km distance at the Oceanmann international tournament, one of the stages of the World Cup. It was the first time that a tournament of such a high level was held in Russia, on open water in the Imereti Bay.

A swimmer of the Glorax Life team has become an all-round winner in individual standing.

‘We are happy that an athlete of such a high level has joined our team. I am confident that his victories would inspire the Glorax Group employees for new achievements. Even now many employees are active lifestyle fans; our running team participates in marathons in Moscow and the Moscow Region on the regular basis. Sports cultivates in people perseverance, it disciplines and teaches how to plan and achieve set goals, to be competitive. There is no doubt that all these qualities are important for doing business.
We in the Glorax Group are planning to develop a chain of sports facilities in the Central and North-Western Federal Districts. The example of the Olympus sports complex in the Moscow Region where future champions are trained and our surveys show ever growing interest to sports among people. Athletes’ victories also boost such interest’
, said Andrey Birzhin, the Glorax Group’s founder.
